Fall Festival & Pumpkin patch

Look it's a rare family photo from the Fall Festival we went to with Anna & Mia. It was a big time looking at the animals, going on a hay ride and dancing our pumpkins off. Back in Austin, we hit the pumpkin patch for just the right pumpkins. Olivia found this one that was the perfect size for her.
But she had to search all over that field to find the best one for her daddy.

Olivia's 1st birthday party!!!

Olivia partied like a rock star today at her first birthday party. We began the festivities around noon after her morning nap. The Langhouts brought their swimming pool and slip-n-slide over and then we had our sprinkler pool to splash in. The kids seemed to really enjoy themselves. After playing outside, we came in and sang to Olivia then watched her dig into her birthday cupcake.
She started out very interested then quickly changed her mind after a few bites. Maybe a little too much sugar for her tastes. To clean her off, we went back out into the sprinkler pool, which made her happy.Next was present time. All the kids helped open the gifts they brought since Olivia really wasn't very into it. Her interest has picked up quick now that everything is out of the package.

Kitchen helper

Olivia loves to climb on the dishwasher and help "load" the spoons.

Sometimes a look says it all. She knows she's not suppose to be standing up there, but she can't resist pulling on the drawer. She also enjoys taking the condiments out of the side door.

Walking!!

In Olivia's baby book, it has a place to fill out for her "first steps" then later "walking." I found it really hard to decide what was her first step. Does that mean with no help? Does it mean one step even if the next one is falling over? Does walking mean three or four steps in between us? I'm obviously waaaaaay over thinking this, but now I can rightfully say, Olivia is walking! She has the best, most satisfied expression when she looks at you. A big shout out to our dog, Bailey, who nicely allows Olivia to chase her around the house providing her lots of practice.

Saturday visitors

Grandmommy and Grandpa drove down to spend the day with Olivia. They had tons of fun playing, swimming and going for a stroller ride. Grandmommy fed Olivia mashed up banana and avocado for the first time and it was a hit! Rob and I took advantage of the free time by cleaning out and organizing the attic and garage (yes we know how to have fun). The attic was pretty steamy, but we managed not to pass out. Later we all went to eat a well earned meal at the Texas Roadhouse, where Grandpa taught Olivia a new trick - sipping water from a straw.

Watching TV

Now that Olivia is pulling up and balancing well, she likes to watch tv from the standing position. And where is her favorite place to perch? The tv stand inches away from the tv as she then bites on the glass stand. No accidents so far, but we may have to see a physical therapist for neck strain.

Ball pit!!

Rachel, Olivia's babysitter, has an inflatable ball pit at her house that the kids love. So yesterday I was at Toys R Us and saw this one and couldn't stop myself from buying it for her. She had a great time climbing in and out of it and crawling around and around in it all night. You think we might need a few more balls for the pit?
