Look who's 4 months old

December 4th Olivia turned 4 months old. Time is flying by. She's now rolling over, kicking like crazy and grabbing her hands, toys and feet. Her head control is awesome and for some reason she loves tummy time. Next stop - crawling - yikes!

Olivia's first Thanksgiving

Olivia spent her first Thanksgiving in Dallas meeting more of her family. Luckily, we made the FIVE hour trek along I35 (the highway of death) without too much trouble. Thursday morning, we got up and went with Mimi, Aunt Christie, Kate (Christie's friend) and Charlie, the dog, to the annual Turkey Trot. It's been a family tradition for many years and it was so exciting for Olivia to take part in the fun. This was her first time to meet Aunt Christie. They had a blast. Thankfully the weather was really nice, but she was bundled up, just in case.

After the Turkey Trot,
Nana came over and we
sat down for our first
Thanksgiving meal of
the day. We took a four
generation photo to
commemorate the event.

After Mimi's, we went over to Sue and Dan's new house for some delicious Thanksgiving pies. The Cowboy game was on and the kids were having a ball playing dressup. Everyone was in good spirits, including Olivia.

I actually went out and shopped on Black Friday. I needed some jeans to wear for the winter and of course nothing is fitting me yet so I braved the crowds at Firewheel. I'll never do it again, but I did get a couple of good deals and have jeans that fit for the foreseeable future. ;-)

Anna and Mia provided lots of entertainment for the rest of our weekend. Brady, Heather and Matt also came over to play. Olivia was thrilled because she gets such a kick out of looking at Brady's photo on our frig. She was beaming!

We got up early Sunday morning and headed back to Austin. Only took the normal three hours - whew! Can't wait to see all of you again over Christmas.

Happy Halloween!!

Olivia and I were invited over to Krista's house to go trick-or-treating. So Ryan, aka Rafeal the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Krista, Dayna, Olivia and I all walked around their 'hood. Ryan did great knocking on the doors and getting lots of good candy. Eventually Olivia fell asleep as we went door-to-door.

Dayna and Krista were super nice to hold Olivia most of the night. She really enjoyed all of the action going on in Krista's house.

Olivia's first crush

While we were in Dallas last week, Olivia discovered a new friend she adores. A big thank you to Cousin Anna who thought to bring Pablo over to entertain her. Pablo is a character on the show Backyardigans. The toy Pablo sings and dances when you press his flipper. Olivia can't stop herself from smiling and cooing when she sees and hears him. Just watch her flop around, grinning from ear to ear.

Are you ready for some football

We went to Eric and Stacey's house to watch Monday night football. Pete was still in town from ACL so we cooked out. It was Olivia's first trip of many to come over to the Langhouts. This video gives you a glimpse into their house. Hilarious!

ACL Fest

This weekend the Austin City Limits Music Fest was held in Zilker Park. I've gone every year since it started, but obviously this year's fest was different. I bought a one day pass for Friday, back in May, because the Beastie Boys were going to be the big act of the night. Then MCA was diagnosed with throat cancer so of course they cancelled their tour. Bummer!

Anyway, Eric, Stacey, the kids and I made our way to Zilker. Pete and Susie were also with us. The grass at the park was like golf coarse grass. You could walk barefoot. We listened to Medeski, Martin & Wood (jam band) then a couple songs of a couple other bands I've never heard of. Then it was time to go according to my body. By Sunday, the park was a miserable mud fest after tons of rain on Saturday. But I heard Pearl Jam was amazing to wrap up the festival. Hopefully I'll be back for a full weekend next year!
